# Connectors

> Browse public MCP connectors, enter your own API key, and manage the encrypted personal connection

A connector is a remote MCP listed on the public marketplace. Browsing does not require a login. Connecting does, because the API key has to be yours.

## Where to start

The Connectors link at the top of the skills marketplace opens `/marketplace/mcp`. The page lists official entries and community connectors that have passed review. Signed-out visitors can read the name, summary, category, and the external link for getting a key.

Add asks you to sign in. The dialog shows the creator's description, fields, and Get Key link. Opening that link only leaves Profy for the provider's page. It does not authorize anything here and it does not create an installation.

## Where the key is stored

Save and connect encrypts your key onto your own installation. The public catalog, the creator draft, and the approved release do not contain it. The connection is enabled only after tool discovery succeeds. A failed discovery stays as a disabled row so you can replace the key and retry.

Added connectors appear in Settings → Connectors, together with the personal connections you already had. You can replace the key, validate again, disable, or delete. A disabled installation is not called from chat.

## Knowledge connectors stay separate

Feishu, DingTalk, Yuque, and IMA connections keep their existing entry. The connector marketplace does not migrate those credentials, and a community installation is not copied into a second personal tool row.
